Hello, I’m Shane, a photographer and videographer who loves to create amazing images. I have a small side business where I offer my photography and videography services, but it’s more than just a job for me. It’s my passion and my way of expressing myself.

I live in Morningside Brisbane, and I have a regular day job and a family with three kids. Photography and videography help me relax and challenge myself at the same time. Having started with film photography over two decades ago, I have learned a lot about the art and craft of capturing images.

I’m a Canon shooter and have been using Canon cameras for all my photography and videography projects since I started. Canon is what I learned with and I have grown to love the quality, performance, and versatility. I have a range of models and lenses to suit different situations and needs. I know there are plenty of other great cameras out there, but I have stuck with Canon because it works for me and my style. The camera is just a device, but what matters is what you can create with it.

My style is relaxed, but I always aim for high quality. My style is constantly evolving as I learn more and try new things. I use various tools and techniques to make my images creative and unique, such as:

• Long exposures are used to smooth rough water giving that silky dreamlike effect by capturing the movement and mood of a scene.

• Nighttime and Astro photography are very different allowing me to show spectacular night skies and wonderfully lit cityscapes.

• Focus stacking creates images that are high quality with sharp focus from near to far.

• Time blending images that can show daytime with night lights in one image.

• Drone photography is still new to me and always fun to see images that have a unique aerial perspective.

• Video: I use it to create content that is dynamic and engaging.

• I use light painting to create dreamlike night scenes of cars and bikes. I take multiple images and strategically light certain areas in the scene, then put them back together like a puzzle.

Yes to coffee!! getting out and about exploring new places to photograph, I’ve been to some really interesting places just to get an image.

I’m always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow as a photographer and videographer. I don’t like to limit myself to one genre or style, but rather experiment with different subjects, techniques, and perspectives. I’m open to trying new ideas and collaborating with people who share my passion and vision. If you have a project in mind that is out of the ordinary or requires some creativity and innovation, I’m up for it. I love to learn new things and push myself beyond my comfort zone. I believe that’s how I can create amazing images that stand out from the crowd.
